D Wolach (M.Phil, Ph.D. candidate, Columbia University) is the editor of Wheelhouse Magazine & Press, which curates the yearly series devoted to the intersection of experimental text arts and radical politics. He is also a former union organizer, and participant in Nonsite Collective. His most recent books are Occultations (Black Radish Books, 2010), Prefab Eulogies Volume 1: Nothings Houses (BlazeVox [books], 2010), Hospitalogy (Scantily Clad Press, forth. 2010), and book alter(ed) (Ungovernable Press, 2009). Critical work on the poetics of spatial practice is forthcoming from Jacket and Sibila: Poesia y Cultura (Brazil). His poetry has appeared or is forthcoming from publications such Aufgabe, Ekleksographia: An Imprint of Ahadada Books (Amy King ed.), No Tell Motel, Little Red Leaves, 5_Trope, Cannot Exist, and XPoetics. Often collaborative and using multiple media, Wolach’s work has been commissioned for performance at venues such as Buffalo Poetics Series, The Belladonna Series, The Tangent Reading Series, The American Cybernetics Conference, and The EconVergence Conference. He’s currently working on a translation of the script from Charles Burnet’s film, Killer of Sheep, and working with composer Arun Chandra on an 4-channel sound-text piece for 4 voices, adapted from Occultations, called “Modular Arterial Cacophony.” Wolach is professor of text arts, poetics, and aesthetics at The Evergreen State College.
