Andrea Quaid
Andrea Quaid’s (B.A., M.F.A., Antioch University, Ph.D. University of California Santa Cruz) work focuses on contemporary poetry and poetics, pedagogy, and feminist studies. She is co-editor of Acts + Encounters, a collection of works about experimental writing and community. Recent publications include two collaboratively-written essays, “Variations on a Theme: Teaching Claudia Rankine’s Citizen: An American Lyric" (albeit) and “Alarming Logic: Feminist Poetics as Discursive/Pedagogic Intervention” (Feminist Spaces Journal). Her essay “Place as Palimpsest: Literary Works and Cultural-Political Resistance” appears in Teaching Space, Place, and Literature (Routledge). Other work appears in American Book Review, BOMBlog, Jacket2, Lana Turner, LIT and the Los Angeles Review of Books. She is series co-editor of the new Palgrave Studies in Contemporary Women’s Writing. She recently co-organized the Feminist Poetics, Emergent Pedagogies symposium.  She is Literature Faculty in Bard College’s Master of Arts in Teaching Program (Los Angeles) and a Faculty Associate in Bard College’s Language and Thinking Program (New York). She also teaches in the Critical Studies Department at California Institute of the Arts.
