Suzanne L. Schulz teaches film and history at Bard High School Early College in Queens, NYC. Suzanne received her B.A. from Bard College, an M.A. from UT Austin in South Asian Studies, and a Ph.D. from UT Austin in Media Studies. She has received fellowships from the American Institute of Indian Studies, the Fulbright Foundation, and the ACLS-Mellon Foundation and has published book chapters and journal articles on the intersection between political protest and film exhibition in India. Suzanne speaks Hindi and Urdu and has translated Hindi writer Amritlal Nagar’s “Seven Years of Film Experience.” Her current passions include third cinemas, the essay film, experimental documentary, and home movies.
