L&T Readings for First-Year Students Enrolling in Fall 2024
Our summer reading assignment this year is Mary Shelley's Frankenstein: The 1818 Text (Penguin) (ISBN-13: 978-0143131847). Students should purchase and read Frankenstein before arriving in Annandale.
Students are also encouraged to purchase Sophocles I: Antigone edited by David Grene and Richmond Lattimore (University of Chicago Press) (ISBN-13: 978-0226311517). Students do not need to read Sophocles ahead of their arrival in August. The book will also be available for purchase at the College bookstore during the program.
It is important that students purchase the correct edition. Rely on the ISBN number when making your purchase.
